Avondale Baptist Church

Since this ministry began only a few years ago, it has gone from strength to strength being blessed by God. More classes have had to be made and the incredible mix of different cultures and languages from around the world has been amazing. Although English is being taught there is opportunity to share the Gospel in a quiet and non-threatening way.

"There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning." 1 Corinthians 14:10

We have a number of home groups that meet in people’s homes to open the word of God and study. They are an essential part of the church, where you can be in more intimate surroundings with a small group of people – who can pray for you and share life together.

"Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another." Hebrews 10:24-25

We have a dedicated group of caring people who look after the needs of the congregation. They are always available on a Sunday morning or just a phone call away. They are always ready to pray for your needs, to arrange help in any area you require – you need never to walk alone.

"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to each other. The Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church." Acts 20:28

Prayer is the life blood of the church and we have a dedicated team who lift up their voices to God on a daily basis for those who need extra help in times of need. Help is just a prayer away – and if you require extra assistance you are just a phone call or a conversation away from being covered by prayer.

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." 1 John 5:14

Sunday school meets the needs of the children 5-11 years old. Here is a safe and fun place to meet and open the Bible and through study and games, draw closer to God. Teachers are trained to help the children journey together to enjoy their time together.

"Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Mark 10:14

Live music is a vital part of our morning service and is led by a team of inspiring members who add light and life to our weekly service.

The worship team reminds us that Sunday is not the only day we worship God in song. God wants us to praise Him every day.

"God made all the nations to come and worship and bring glory to His name. For you alone are God." Psalm 86:9-10

Our EDGE group (18-30's years old) works hard to keep God as their centre focus – meeting fortnightly to study the word, laughing and having fellowship. Helping each other to grow deeper into God. They lead the morning service from time to time and are an active and growing part of the church. They also have many social nights and activities – keeping friendships stronger and doing life together. They are our future leaders and we believe they will keep the church going stronger. Join them and have some fun.

"The Lord said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am only a youth’; for where I send you, you will go, and whatever I command you to say, you shall speak." Jeremiah 1:7

Kids Discovery Club (KDC) is held fortnightly on a Friday night (6:45-8:30pm). This is a safe place where kids from the age of 3- 12 years come and discover exciting but also learn new things. There are games, prizes, crafts, singing, dancing and lots of laughing! During this time, kids engage and interact but also make new friends while they learn more about themselves. This is also an opportunity to hear the stories from the bible and experience God’s love.

3 John 1:4- “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth”.
